The painting from Michael Sadler's collection, exhibited in 1944 as 'Oxfordshire Village', is tentatively identified as 'In Little Milton' exhibited at the Goupil Gallery Summer Exhibition 1927, at the price of £31.10. It is one of eight paintings purchased by Sadler from Spencer's exhibition at the ?Chelsea Arts Club in 1928.
