In Lansdowne Crescent

In Lansdowne Crescent

From 1931-3, Spencer and his new wife Ursula lived at Lansdowne Crescent, London. He painted two views of Lansdowne Crescent in 1931, of very similar dimensions. Both were exhibited at the Goupil Gallery in 1932. This painting is presently untraced, with no known image. It was exhibited at Reading in 1964 (no. 58) where the date was given as 1947, presumably incorrectly.
