
Kidmore Road (alt. title: Winter Landscape)
This landscape, sold in 2003 as 'Winter Landscape', has been identified as Kidmore Road, exhibited at the NEAC in summer 1922 (45) and Goupil Gallery in 1923 (21). According to The Times' review of the painting in the latter (6 January 1923), 'the bright touches of the distant buildings bring the whole of the colour scheme into harmony.' Kidmore Road is in Caversham, near Reading, where Spencer lived in 1921-2.
