The Royal Observatory, Greenwich

The Royal Observatory, Greenwich

Dated to the early 1920s on stylistic grounds, particularly the sparse treatment of the foliage, although only a poor quality image is available. The attribution is tentative, since Spencer is not known to have ever painted this subject, which is an unusual choice for him. He frequently stayed in London during the 1920s.
