The Windmill, Wangford (alt. title: Wangford)


Painted at Wangford, Suffolk, when Gilbert was invited to join his brother Stanley and new wife Hilda on their honeymoon. According to Gilbert, ‘We stayed in a cowman’s cottage and painted out of doors’ (Spencer 1961 p. 174). Each of the three artists painted a landscape during this time.
