Recently identified as Winter Landscape, Winsford, painted by Spencer on his honeymoon in January 1931. According to his Memoirs, he sold it in Canada 'for precisely the cost of the honeymoon.' (Spencer 1974, p. 95). At the Goupil Gallery in summer 1931, it was priced at £52.10, the upper end of his price range for landscapes.
