Head of a Boy

Head of a Boy

This has been tentatively identified as the same sitter as Spencer's 1922 oil painting, A Reading Boy (Reading Museum and Town Hall), on the basis of facial similarity. The oil painting was exhibited at the NEAC, Summer 1922 (69). Spencer had exhibited 'Boy's Head', probably a drawing, a few months earlier at the NEAC, Winter 1922, which may be this drawing. As it is undated, a secure identification is not possible.
