Portrait of Mary Morris


Mary Morris was the daughter of Professor Ernest de Selincourt, with whom Spencer and his family stayed while evacuated to Ambleside with the Royal College of Art. Mary, born in 1901, married Charles, Baron Morris of Grasmere in 1923. In 1952 she was awarded an OBE for her work in the voluntary sector.
