Feeding Pigs, alt. title: Feeding Time

Made just a few months after Spencer entered the Slade School of Fine Art, this small work was also one of his earliest sales, if not the earliest. It was purchased by Edward Marsh for £5 in November 1913, after Stanley Spencer brought Marsh to Cookham and introduced him to Gilbert.
