New Arrivals (scaled copy)

This sketch recording Spencer's officially-commissioned war painting was made in the autograph album of Gwyn Pinder-Brown, who lived in Cookham. The album also contains a copy by Stanley Spencer of his own Travoys Arriving with Wounded at a Dressing station in Smol, in Macedonia. Both pictures featured in the Imperial War Museum's exhibition of 'The Nation's War Paintings and Other Records', held at the Royal Academy in 1919-20, which opened shortly after the brothers made these copies.
