Clifton Hampden
Clifton Hampden is a village in Oxfordshire, close to Abingdon where Spencer lived in lodgings in 1926. This untraced landscape was praised by Frank Rutter in his Sunday Times review (6 June 1926) for its 'clear, vivacious colour… almost Pre-Raphaelite in its dainty notion of detail.'
