
Portrait of Theodosia Townsend, Mrs A. Neville Lewis (alt. title: Girl in Yellow)
Theodosia (Theo) Townshend and her husband A. Neville Lewis were fellow students with Gilbert at the Slade School of Art. Theo pursued a career as a decorative artist. Her marriage with Lewis ended in 1920. In 1928, Neville Lewis and Gilbert Spencer would share a joint exhibition of watercolours and drawings at the Goupil Gallery, along with Paul Nash, another friend.
